What is The 50/50 Project?
The 50/50 Project is an ongoing series of screen prints made collaboratively between Go够 and other local artists. The purpose of this process is to screenprint new and experimental images, meet and collaborate with artists, create learning opportunities for collaborating artists, and make high quality screen prints at a more accessible cost for collectors. Every project belongs to a limited edition of 50, and operates with the goal of splitting work and proceeds evenly, hence “50/50”. Each project follows these base guidelines with room for flexibility:
-Print dimensions should be 11x15 inches, on Stonehenge 100% cotton rag paper, in a limited edition of 50.
-Labour is split evenly in concept but flexible in practice. The collaborating artist undertakes the design of the artwork, the labour of which is highly variable and is not valued based on time spent. Go够 undertakes all printing labour, which can be anywhere between 20-60 hours depending on the complexity of the design.
-Proceeds from the work are split 50/50 between the collaborating artist and Go够Studio; each party takes 25 prints to sell through their own channels.

At the beginning of each project, goals and interests are discussed. Some artists may have a specific image or pre-existing artwork in mind, others may want to experiment slowly. Artists also have varying levels of experience with screenprinting as a medium, and are given opportunities to learn more about the process at any stage.
