Pasting for our People was an interactive community art project designed for Two Rivers Gallery in Prince George, BC. The art project took place at BMO Community Art Days. The double-sided free-standing mural began as a repeating 8-pointed star pattern, with open room for participants to add their own marks, and continuously build on what was already there.
Participants were provided various geometric shapes to paste, as well as pens and markers to draw and write with. Some participants came with their own print/paper materials to paste into the mural. The project also served as a learning opportunity for first-timers to pasting, stenciling, and/or painting.
Over the weekend, the mural evolved and participants became more responsive to marks and messages left by one another. The end result saw many messages of hope and care for community.
